The Librarian

Ah, this one was among my earliest nods to Dean Yeagle's classic Playboy cartoons!

The formula was always pretty simple: a beautiful, blissfully unaware woman and some doofus whose intentions are considerably less innocent. It's a tale as old as time. Or at least as old as the pinup cartoon!

Beyond the cheeky humor, I wanted to experiment with perspective, staging, and color to guide the viewer's eye through the composition. The trick was making sure the visual storytelling did its job without having to lean too heavily on the punchline itself.

Looking back, I'll admit the humor is a bit dated and probably more at home in the pages of a vintage Playboy than in today's cultural landscape. But I still appreciate the charm of that old-school approach to single-frame storytelling, and I think this one accomplished what I set out to do!
