Fly Away Now, Little Starling

I get really nostalgic about movies, especially the creepy ones. The Silence of the Lambs is one of those that just pops up in my memory with so many iconic moments that I just feel the need to recreate them.
There is this very creepy moment where Lecter, from behind a pane of bullet-proof glass serving as his cell, asks to see Clarice's credentials. She sheepishly (no pun intended) presents her FBI badge at a comfortable distance. Lector then challenges her to bring it closer. No doubt a test. She extends her arm. "CLOSERRRRR," he says in a sort of a sing-song voice. Whew! Gives me the chills even now.

Years ago, I did a painting of Anthony Hopkins in the roll, which I decided to overlay for fun on this. Kind of cool to bring that back from 10 years ago for this piece. Not super pinup-y, I know. But still a really awesome character daring to expose herself in a totally different and very intriguing way.

Have you seen any of the Hannibal movies? Which is your favorite?
